Phlebotomy Program
Medical Assistant jobs are expected to be one of the ten fastest growing occupations through the year 2010!
Clinical duties include taking medical histories, vital signs, blood pressure, pulse, respirations temperatures,
drawing blood and collecting specimens, medication administration, explaining and preparing
patients for examinations, and assisting the physician during examinations and procedures. Administrative
duties include patient reception, appointment scheduling, insurance billing and coding, updating patient
records, facilities management, correspondence, mail processing and practice finance management.
Prerequisites: High School Diploma or GED, meet program assessment criteria, and immunization
requirements.
Medical Assistants perform routine administrative and clinical skills to keep medical offices, clinics and
hospital departments running smoothly and professionally.
