The job market for professionally trained administrative assistants is encouraging. Today's administrative assistants are responsible for a variety of clerical duties necessary to run a business efficiently. The Professional Office Assistant Program will enhance students' technical and communication skills along with service learning projects that give you "real life" experience. You will gain extensive knowledge of all Microsoft software applications and take a MOS Certification exam that every employer is looking for. This program will gear you to work in any office environment with an emphasis on Legal Terminology/Street Law. An internship is part of the experience; hours and days will vary with each site.
Prerequisite: High School Diploma
or GED and meet program assessment criteria.
Courses: MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Keyboarding, Data Entry,
QuickBooks Pro, Internet, Business English, Communications, Professional Writing, Business Math, Accounting,
Speedwriting, Legal Terminology, Medical Terminology, Interoffice Relations, Time Management, Resumes, Filing, Appointments and Scheduling, Resumes and Professional Development. This is a 640-hour program.
